About Tranquillity Spa Lodge
Tranquillity Spa Lodge is a bed and breakfast lodge nestled within a private conservancy, bordered on the south eastern side of the Dinokeng Big Five Game Reserve next to Kevin Richardson’s Lion Sanctuary. Here you can take a break away from the stress of the city and find tranquillity in the bush only 35 km north of Pretoria.
Accommodation includes a selection of 1) luxury thatched chalets for family and friends sharing; 2) cosy en suite bush lodges (or mini bush chalets) for single or couple sharing; and 3) a campsite with a camp kitchen, see more on accommodation options here. For more information on on- and off-site activities at Tranquillity, please click here.
Please note that, with the exception of campers, Tranquillity Spa Lodge is not a self-catering lodge. Tranquillity has a restaurant with a scrumptious menu and a fully stocked licensed bar for all drinks. T&Cs apply.
You are very welcome to contact the Tranquillity team ahead of time to see what is available on the menu or if you have any further questions regarding your upcoming stay with us. We look forward to seeing you soon!
What to do here:
On-site facilities include a warm and welcoming boma with a large braai area, which can accommodate small to larger groups. Guests can pre-book a bush spa treatment. There are also two swimming pools, a restaurant and fully-stocked licensed bar for meals and drinks.
Other activities include bird watching, bush walks and game drives, or you can simply relax and read a book, or rest and relax while listening to the call of lions and jackals in the evening.

What’s happening at Tranquillity?
Tranquillity Spa Lodge hosted a venomous snake identification/ handling and snake bite course held by Rayton/Cullinan Wildlife on 1 March 2020. We had such an amazing day with DeWaal Venter, learning all about snakes and how to handle them. Thank you to everyone who came – we had a wonderful day and we will definitely host the event again! Keep an eye on our page for future announcements!
What’s new at Tranquillity?
We are so proud of our solar panels! Phases 3 and 4 (the last stages) are now complete and we are (mostly) off the grid! Thank you so much to Airsa for such a professional installation and for all of the advice that you gave along the way. We are so excited for this next step in going green! We highly recommend them to anyone who is looking for solar or air-conditioning installations.
We are also happy to read that our President, Cyril Ramaphosa, wants to legalise the self-generation of power so that citizens (private and corporations) can feed any excess energy back into the system, to take the pressure off the grid. You can read more about it here. If this happens, we will happily send our excess energy to the grid for South Africans to make use of!
Thank you so much again to Airsa, we look forward to this new energy phase at Tranquillity!
